Segway recently subscribed to CO2stats in an effort to continuously improve our company's carbon output. The service monitors a site's environmental footprint and purchases renewable energy credits to neutralize it. Their methodology is explained here if you’d like to know more.
Our website now features the green certification badge which provides transparency to the emissions offset process with a Segway-specific certificate. You’ll see this on the footer of every page, including our homepage – we encourage you to check it out! |

You may have seen a little more of Segway lately, outside of our company website. We recently featured a few ad concepts on treehugger.com, one of the most, well-respected green websites today.
Given the recent gas price hikes and struggling economy, the Segway PT offers a budget-friendly way to run errands, commute to work, or complete short-distance trips because it’s battery powered and produces zero emissions. The Segway PT is environmentally friendly, encourages less dependence on fossil fuel, and takes a step toward reducing our carbon footprint (and let’s face it, we could all do a little more of that).
Learn how you can take control of your commute with a Segway PT or get up close and personal by building yours here. |

Have you seen Segway on Discovery Channel’s new channel, Planet Green? It’s an awesome new channel all about being green and environmentally friendly! One new show called “G Word” encourages people to “forget what you think you know about what being green means during an hour-long episode designed to give you a whole new way to look at, and love, going green.”
On October 7th, a new episode titled “Segway Cool” highlighted Segway PTs as a wonderful, green, alternative transportation solution. Filmed in Washington DC, it puts a new perspective on commuting and using Segway PTs.
We encourage you to try and catch it when it replays. Check your local listings for showtimes. |

On September 20th, Segway Inc. participated in actor and environmental activist Matthew Modine’s first-annual Bicycle for a Day Event. We were joined by 250 of New York’s most prominent philanthropists, athletes, fashionistas, designers, art patrons and celebrities at a “green” silent auction. The winner walked away with a Segway i2 and the proceeds went to benefit Modine’s environmental charities and future alternate transportation events.
The event itself brought 15,000+ celebrities, businesspeople, politicians, influencers, and general public attendees to the South Street Seaport. Segway gave more than 800 demo rides and was pleased with the positive media coverage highlighting our participation. |
