SEGWAY SUPPORTS RELEASE OF INDEPENDENT DOCUMENTARY 10 MPH
Film Chronicles 100-day Trek Through America on a Segway PT
BEDFORD, N.H. May 29, 2007 – Segway Inc. announced today that it is a sponsor of the release of 10 MPH, a feature-length independent documentary that follows two aspiring filmmakers on a 100-day journey across the U.S. on a Segway® Personal Transporter (PT).
The documentary, filmed in 2004, follows the first Segway PT ride across America and showcases the durability and reliability of the technology as it survives a grueling trip more than 4,000 miles long. The DVD, released today, is available for rental via popular services such as Netflix and Blockbuster’s Total Access, and for purchase on Amazon.com and at participating Segway Authorized Dealers.
The film begins with an impulsive purchase of a Segway PT, a self-balancing transportation device, setting a story in motion of two friends who travel from Seattle to Boston at 10 m.p.h. in an attempt to change their lives forever. The film illustrates the importance of seizing the moment and appreciating all that life has to offer as Josh Caldwell and Hunter Weeks quit their corporate jobs and hit the road to pursue their dreams of film making. The documentary has been screened at festivals from coast to coast, winning several awards including three for best documentary.
To celebrate the release of the film, the producers of 10 MPH, Spinning Blue, invite people to share their own stories consistent with the theme of movie - slow down and “do your thing”- at www.10mph.com/segway.
