Segway Inc. Announces Appointment of VP of Global Communications
BEDFORD, N.H. – February 25, 2008 – Segway Inc., developer and manufacturer of the Segway Personal Transporter (PT), today announced the appointment of Carol Valianti as Vice President of Global Communications.
Carol brings over 20 years of communications and marketing leadership to Segway. In her role as VP of Global Communications, Carol will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies involving global branding, public relations, marketing communications, market segmentation, market research and channel support to increase growth in profits and market share.
“Carol's background and experience will provide significant importance to Segway as we continue our tremendous global growth. She is the right person for the right time at Segway Inc.” stated Jim Norrod, Segway President and CEO.
Prior to joining Segway, Carol started her career in communications as a Broadcast Coordinator with Major League Baseball after earning her BA degree from Fairfield University. As a Consultant/Principal with Cameo Communications, Inc. she specialized in project management and communications for corporations, non-profit organizations, public relations firms, and event planning agencies. Most recently, Carol held the position of Vice President, Global Communications at POLARTEC, LLC (formerly Malden Mills Industries, Inc.) where she was a member of their strategic leadership team responsible for achieving profitable growth and sales objectives through the revitalization of the Polartec ® brand.
