Segway Inc. Doubles Q4 Sales with "Home for the Holidays" Promotion
BEDFORD, N.H. - FEB. 7, 2005 - Segway Inc. today released the results of its 2004 "Home for the Holidays" promotion. During the ten-week promotional period that began Oct. 25, 2004, domestic sales of Segway® Personal Transporters (HTs) more than doubled compared to prior periods.
Supported by the company's national dealer network, the promotion increased traffic to dealer showrooms and encouraged customers to experience the product for themselves by taking a Segway PT home for a free extended trial period.
"The consumer response to the Home for the Holidays promotion was phenomenal. People embraced the opportunity to try the Segway PT and integrate it into their everyday lives," said Gary Pietruszewski, vice president of sales and customer support, Segway Inc.
Segway Inc. also said that December 2004 was the company's best dealer sales month ever. Ten new dealers have signed on with the company, bringing the current total to 80 Authorized Segway Dealers in North America.
