This year's convention is being held October 8-10 in Bonita Springs, Florida at the spectacular Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort and Spa. The Hyatt Resort consists of 26 acres along the Gulf of Mexico and pristine Estero Bay, with beautiful gliding paths throughout the entire property. Three full days will be chock full of presentations, Segway PT riding opportunities and competitions, and other fun activities. C'iao Segway!
The Italian Railways Police forces are discovering the benefits of using the versatile Segway PT to patrol the Rome Train Station. "The Rome Central Station-the largest in Italy-has millions of visitors a year and we are excited that many of them will have the chance to see the Segway PTs being used for its security," said Tullio Meroni, Chairman of Mega Italia, the Italian distributor for Segway PT security and control applications. "This is a major breakthrough."

With the Italian Railways Police usage, it harkens back to a time when the ancient Roman Centurions guaranteed the safety and security of the streets in Rome using horse powered bigas (the two-horse chariot). Everyday more municipalities throughout Italy are discovering the benefits of adopting the Segway PT for security uses.

Human Technology, another Italian distributor for Segway, has launched the official Italian Segway website www.segway.it. "We have big plans for Segway in Italy" said Tiziano Centulani, Marketing VP of Human Technology. "Italians love innovation, performance and design and there are not many things that beat the Segway PT in these regards."

SEG America (the national Segway Enthusiast Group) is pleased to announce that the organization has successfully incorporated. Leaders are laying the groundwork to create an organization that serves the Segway PT community by organizing local groups all around the USA and providing the means for members to find and contact each other. SEG America's Executive Board will be giving a presentation at this year's SegwayFest! The board members will discuss the goals attained to date by the organization and what its future plans are. They will also announce their new membership structure, its own newsletter, registration procedure and dues schedule. SEG America will also be selling raffle tickets to give away a new Segway PT p Series at SegwayFest! 2004.

Soon you'll be able to buy it online.
Coming in early October, we will be opening our online Segway Shop, allowing folks to more easily purchase their favorite accessories, apparel and replacement parts. The online store will offer everything that's currently available on the site, along with a bevy of new accessories and apparel. Check back for the store's grand opening on October 5, 2004 on Segway.com to make your genuine Segway parts and accessories purchase online.
