We're celebrating the end of our year-long study.
As you've probably heard from our previous newsletters, Celebration, Florida was the first community in the United States to embrace the idea and potential of using Segway PTs as a short-distance transportation solution. The study has now concluded and the results show that owners are using their Segway PTs for recreational purposes more often then they originally anticipated. One year later, a majority of owners are still glad they purchased a Segway PT. The study also offered valuable information about what Segway can do to increase the enjoyment of owning and riding a Segway PT. Based on study participants' feedback, and that of other owners, we are diligently working to enhance and diversify our product, service and accessory offerings.

Segway RMP robots are coming to a campus near you.
Segway RMPThe Segway™ Robotic Mobility Platform (RMP) is a modified, specialized version of the Segway PT designed to provide scientists and engineers a mobile base for use in robotics research. The Segway RMP was first created for the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). It shares many characteristics of the Segway PT, such as being able to self-balance, move forward and backward, turn left and right and in place with a zero-degree turning radius. Unlike a regular Segway PT, however, the Segway RMP is fitted with specialized software and additional interface electronics and receives its commands from a remote controller, not a rider. This set of features gives researchers, labs and institutions the advantages and flexibility of maneuvering the platform in tight spaces.

To learn more or request sales information regarding the Segway RMP, please visit the Segway RMP site (segway.com).
