The much-anticipated p Series is finally available and ready to ship! The p Series is the most compact and portable Segway™ Personal Transporter (PT) available. With a footprint just 22 inches wide, the new p Series is no wider than most people's shoulders making it ideal for riding in dense pedestrian environments and tight spaces. Its compact, minimalist design allows the rider to move from the sidewalk, to the elevator, right to the office where it can be charged from any outlet before the evening commute. The p Series can carry a rider weighing up to 200 pounds, plus 10 pounds of gear in the optional Segway 12.0 Handlebar Bag. It can travel six to 10 miles on one charge, providing plenty of range for the average American's commute. SegwayFest 2003: An event to remember.
More than 150 Segway PT owners and enthusiasts gathered in Chicago, IL August 29th and 30th at the world's first SegwayFest, an event created and organized by Segway PT owners. World-class engineers and designers from Segway's Product Development team hosted workshops and seminars covering the product development of the Segway PT, shared an inside view of the components and technology, and offered tips to help customers get the most out of their Segway PT. A representative from the City of Seattle Fleets and Facilities Department presented the city's application of Segway PTs and the resulting productivity and economic benefits, while David Vass of SeaDream Yacht Cruises discussed the technology's relevance to tourism, amongst the many presentations offered. Segway PT owners proudly displayed their self-customized Segway PTs and enjoyed group rides throughout Chicago. Segway will be exhibiting at the Promotional Products Association International (PPAI) Expo at the new Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas January 13-17, 2004.
