Spring is almost here and it's perfect Segway weather. We're excited to give you an update on what we've been working on.

A community study of sunny proportions.
Celebration, Florida is the perfect place for our first community study. In this year-long study, which began on February 1, we are observing how and when people use their Segway™ Personal Transporters (PT) to commute to work, to improve their mobility, and to interact with their community and neighbors. Just over 100 individuals are participating in the study, which requires them to complete a series of questionnaires and interviews over the next year. To date, most study participants indicate that they are using their Segway PTs more often than they ever thought they would be. More than half of the participants take more than two trips per day on their Segway PT, averaging 1-3 miles per trip. Acceptance of the Segway riders within the Celebration community has been extremely favorable.

Working with commercial partners across the globe.
We are beginning to work with select commercial partners outside of the United States. Segway is pleased to partner with the Keolis Group, a multi-modal transportation leader in France. Keolis will make the Segway PT available for rent in its "Oxygen Stations." These stations will be located at main railway or metro stations, downtown parking lots and city centers. Commuters will be able to rent zero emission transportation devices such as bikes, electric cars and Segway PTs from the stations. The first pilot programs with select user panels will be launched in Besançon and Paris in the coming months.

Keolis designed and developed two models of Oxygen Stations. The Kiosk can accommodate 30 Segways inside and 12 outside on mobile display units. The Bungalow is a smaller station that can be easily assembled and disassembled for short events. The first unit will be available this summer.

Keolis believes that the Segway PT and the Oxygen station are the right answers to transportation problems in European cities.

Excitement is rising across the country.
Segway PT customers are attending Product Orientations in 13 cities across the United States. At the orientations, customers learn safe riding techniques, practice riding with coaching by Segway staff, and have the opportunity to ask questions on a wide variety of topics. At each orientation, we ask customers to write down a few comments on large posters, which we then take back to our corporate headquarters in Manchester, NH to share with the rest of the Segway team. The orientations have been fun and rewarding for all involved. We have received comments such as, "Awesome ride!" and a "wonderful machine," as well as these quotes from the actual posters:
